Pilates Era.

Along with everyone else I am in my pilates era.

I started practicing hot yoga at the age of 15. I would take myself to classes when I should have been in school opting for moving my body and softening the edges of my mind over sitting in history or math class. A choice that I probably advise against not but needless to say I am emotionally attached to the practice and it is infused into the core of who I am.
This year I have been aiming to increase muscle mass and in an attempt to avoid lifting weights in the stale, clattering gym I signed up for a 45 minute pilates class on the reformer.

You can now find me at 7:15am 3 days per week zinging up and down on the reformer. I love how strong these classes make me feel engaging parts of my body that even in the most vigorous vinyasa class don’t light up. Furthermore the practice compliments my yoga and makes me feel stronger on the mat and in my sitting practice.
My yoga practice is something that I will never give up but at this time I am happy to support it with this reformer workout. I already feel leaner and stronger in my spine and core.
